Privacy & security
Protected spaces
Lock a space behind Face ID or Touch ID; it's also hidden from Spotlight.
- Add/Edit Space → toggle Protected.
- Unlock once per session; it re-locks when you background the app.
Local-only spaces
Keep a space entirely on this device — it never touches iCloud.
- Add/Edit Space → toggle Local Only (needs iCloud turned on).
- Ideal for sensitive data; can't be shared.
Sync, backup & recovery
iCloud sync
Your spaces sync privately across your devices, and self-heal if a record gets stuck.
- Settings → iCloud Sync. The subtitle shows status; tap Sync Now to force one.
- A Sync Health row surfaces any warnings with details.
Backup — export & import
Export everything to a .zip, and import it back any time.
- Settings → Backup → Export Backup to save a .zip.
- Import Backup to merge a .zip back in.
Recently deleted
Deleted items are kept for 30 days so you can recover them.
- Settings → Recently Deleted.
- Restore an item or delete it for good; items auto-purge after 30 days.
Common questions
Is my data private?
Yes. Sync runs through your own iCloud, on-device AI stays on-device, and you can lock spaces behind Face ID or keep them entirely local.
Can I recover something I deleted?
Deleted items go to Recently Deleted and are recoverable for 30 days before they're permanently removed.
